Nut Milk Recipe via The Moon Juice Cookbook
Recently i posted a story on my Instagram showing my homemade Nut Milk and surprisingly i had enough recipe requests to prompt me to do this blog!!
here we go!!
- 1 cup of raw almonds
- 4 1/2 cups of water
- 2 pinches of pink salt
- 2 teaspoons of raw honey (optional)
Put the dry, raw almonds in a bowl and add enough water to cover (I recommend filtered water). Soak up to 8 hours in the refrigerator.
Drain nuts and transfer to blender. Add the water and salt and blend on high. (ok guys this is where I added strawberries to create my "Pink Milk"). Next, pour into cheese cloth or strainer to separate the milk from the pulp. I sometimes start with a metal strainer and "re-strain" with a cheese cloth.
* the cool thing about this recipe is there are no limits!! Add cardamon, cinnamon, dates and dried rose petals before you blend to create "Unicorn Milk" or to really spike the milk, pour in any of our moon dusts to create a custom milk.
Left over almond Pulp!
** I also recycled the nut pulp by combining Pulp, Agave and dark chocolate morsels and dehydrating them and creating breakfast bars/ smoothie toppers etc.
***take it one step further and mill the dehydrated pulp into a nut flour!!!!
This is fun to do, messy to make and delicious to drink n' eat!!
